What is our Essential Eye Test?
Our Essential Eye Test, which also includes our Dry Eye Evaluation*, is a routine check-up that not only checks how clearly you can see, but also helps protect the health of your eyes. Our Essential Eye Test can also help detect wider health conditions, such as diabetes, cataracts and glaucoma, early, when they’re easier to treat.
For children, regular check-ups are especially important to catch potential issues early, such as a lazy eye, that might impact a child’s visual development. Find out when and how often your child should have their eyes checked here.
That’s why we recommend having an eye test at least every two years (or as advised by your Optometrist), even if your vision feels fine. Find out more about what happens during an eye test and why they’re so important here.
How much does an Essential Eye Test cost?
Our Essential Eye Test cost is from £29.95,** but you may be eligible for a free NHS eye test.
It’s recommended that children have their eyes tested at least every two years, or as directed by your optometrist. NHS eye tests are free for all children under 16 years old and those under 19 years old who are in full-time education.
