Our Essential Eye Test
From £29.95
This routine check-up looks at how clearly you can see and how healthy your eyes are. Our Essential Eye Test, which also includes our Dry Eye Evaluation,* costs from £29.95,** but you may be eligible for a free NHS eye test. It's recommended that children have their eyes tested at least every two years, or as directed by your optometrist. Find out more about what happens at an Essential Eye Test here.
NHS eye tests are free for all children under 16 years old and those under 19 years old who are in full-time education. Find out more here.

Our contact lens appointments
Contact Lens check
Our contact lens check-up (sometimes called a contact lens aftercare appointment) is for people who already wear contact lenses. This test is for when your contact lenses need checking, but you do not need a sight test. A contact lens check-up costs £50. If you are part of our Contact Lens Rewards Plan or Contact Lens Care plan, your contact lens check-up is included as part of your plan, with no extra cost.
Combined eye test and contact lens check
This test is for when you need both a sight test and a check for your contact lenses. The price of an eye test is from £29.95 and the cost of a contact lens check is £50. Please remember to come wearing your contact lenses (unless advised not to). If you are part of our Contact Lens Rewards Plan or Contact Lens Care plan, this combined appointment is included as part of your plan, with no extra cost.
Eye Test with free contact lens trial
If you are interested in trying contact lenses for the first time, or haven't had contact lenses for a while, we offer a Free Contact Lens Assessment and Trial.‡ If you haven't had an eye test within the last 12 months, this combined appointment will be needed. The price of an eye test is from £29.95.

Depending on your individual requirements and the eye test you have chosen, an eye test may take different lengths of time. On average, you could spend up to 1hour 30 minutes in total with your optometrist and team during your visit. This includes your pre-screening, eye test examination and shopping for your glasses or contact lenses.
You are entitled to a free NHS eye test if you:

are aged under 16

are aged 16, 17, or 18 and are in full-time education

are aged 60 or over

are registered as partially sighted (sight impaired) or blind (severely sight impaired)

have been diagnosed with diabetes or glaucoma

are aged 40 or over, and your mother, father, brother, sister, son, or daughter has been diagnosed with glaucoma

have been advised by an ophthalmologist (eye doctor) that you're at risk of glaucoma

are eligible for an NHS complex lens voucher - your optometrist can advise you about your entitlement

are a prisoner on leave from prison

are entitled to or named on a valid NHS certificate for full help with health costs (HC2)

From arrival to choosing the right vision solution, your eye test is designed to give you a clear picture of your eye health and vision.
Before your test, we’ll carry out some quick, painless checks, which may include an eye pressure check, visual field test and digital retinal photograph to help identify and monitor potential eye conditions.
During your appointment, your optician will assess your vision at different distances, how your eyes focus and work together, and your overall eye health. Every adult sight test also includes a Dry Eye Evaluation.
Afterwards, we’ll talk you through the results and any recommendations, including glasses or contact lenses if needed.
