Dry Eye Evaluation

Find out more about our Dry Eye Evaluation and how it can help you

Dry eyes is a common condition that affects about one in three people in the UK. It happens when your eyes don’t make enough tears, or when the tears aren’t quite doing their job properly. According to the UK Eye Care Data Hub,* the number of people experiencing dry eye is expected to keep rising over the next 15 years.

What are the common symptoms of dry eyes?

The common symptoms of dry eyes are scratchy or gritty eyes, burning or stinging sensations, red or irritated eyes, sensitivity to light, blurred vision or eye fatigue, and watery eyes. Read more about the symptoms and causes here.

We’re passionate about helping people with dry eyes. That’s why our Dry Eye Evaluation is included as part of every adult sight test, so you can enjoy clearer, more comfortable vision and get back to the things you love without irritation.

What is our Dry Eye Evaluation and how does it work?

Our Dry Eye Evaluation starts with a quick in-store questionnaire — just five simple questions about how your eyes feel, including any dryness, discomfort, or watering. Your answers help us understand whether you might have dry eye and how severe it could be. From there, your clinician will use your results to guide a thorough eye check and create a personalised plan to keep your eyes healthy and comfortable.

With our Dry Eye Evaluation, we can spot issues early and give you tailored advice to keep your eyes feeling their best. Depending on your needs, we may recommend soothing at-home treatments like eye drops or a heat mask, or an in-store treatment such as ZEST for a deeper cleanse. We’ll then guide you on the best products to use at home to keep your eyes comfortable and your vision clear.

Simply book your eye test, as the Dry Eye Evaluation is included in every adult sight test.

Depending on the results of your Dry Eye Evaluation, your clinician may recommend an in-store treatment, a take-home treatment, or both.

In-store

Depending on your store, your clinician may offer Blephex or our new ZEST treatment. ZEST is an advanced in-store lid-cleaning treatment that deeply cleanses your eyelids and delivers a patented okra complex with anti-inflammatory properties to help calm irritation.

Gentle, quick, and effective, the ZEST treatment takes just 20 minutes and can provide relief for up to six months. The ZEST treatment costs from £150** and is currently not available on the NHS.

Take home treatment - Heat, Cleanse, Hydrate

If at-home treatments are recommended, we’ll guide you on the best options to suit your needs — whether that’s using soothing eye drops, gentle lid wipes, a warm compress, or taking supplements. This treatment covers a range of our eyecare products and your clinician will recommend the best ones for you.
